The Academy for the Performing Arts is thrilled to announce its upcoming musical extravaganza, Children of Eden, set to grace the stage of the Chagrin Falls Performing Arts Center for a two-night event on March 12t and 13tat 7pm.
Admission to this special production will be free of charge.
Children of Eden, written by Stephen Schwartz, the renowned composer behind hits like
Wicked and Godspell, is a captivating musical that explores the complex relationships
between parents and children through the prism of two biblical tales. The first act delves
into the story of Adam, Eve, Cain, and Abel, while the second act brings to life the saga
of Noah and the Flood. Through its lyrical and musical richness, the show tackles
themes of love, redemption, and the enduring bond between generations. Schwartz's
masterful score and poignant storytelling invite audiences on a journey through the
challenges and beauties of human relationships, making Children of Eden a deeply
moving experience that resonates with audiences long after the curtain falls.
This unique presentation of Children of Eden will feature the prodigious talents of the
entire Academy for the Performing Arts Class of 2024. The production is uniquely
staged in a concert format, complete with a live onstage orchestra and the innovative
use of full stage video walls to create a captivating visual and auditory experience.
Adding to the allure of the performances is the presence of guest artist, Ross Williams
(Gimli - Lord of the Rings Musical - Toronto). Williams will portray the character of
Father. The cast of Children of Eden includes Ty Wyville as Adam, Reagan Kacmar as
Eve, Savon Harris as Cain, Atlas Nielsen as Abel, Luke Wojciechowski as Noah, Ja'Niya
Rahman as Mama Noah, Gabe Feinberg as Japeth, and Katherine Quinn as Yonah.
The production team features Direction by Dan Hendrock, with Music Direction by
Marcia Snavely, and featuring Scenic, Lighting & Projection Design by Ben Needham.
April Rock brings her expertise to Costume Design, with Sound Design by Tom
Linsenmeier, and Stage Management by Katherine Swartzbeck.
The Academy for the Performing Arts, a premiere Career Technical Education (CTE)
program part of the Excel TECC consortium founded in 2007, is dedicated to offering
high school juniors and seniors a rigorous and inspiring theatrical training experience.
This production of Children of Eden embodies the Academy's commitment to fostering
creativity, confidence, and mastery in the arts, preparing students for success in
collegiate and professional endeavors.
Following Children of Eden, the Academy's 2024 Junior Play Festival will take center
stage in the Black Box Theatre from March 19-21, promising more engaging
performances from its talented students.
Do not miss this opportunity to witness the future stars of the performing arts in a
production that combines professional artistry with the fresh talent of the Academy for
the Performing Arts Class of 2024. Join us for a magical evening of storytelling, music,
