Broadway and television star Corey Cott is coming home for a one-night-only concert on Saturday, August 23, at 7:00 p.m. at the Chagrin Falls High School Performing Arts Center. Presented by the Chagrin Falls Music Association, “Homecoming: An Evening with Corey Cott” promises an unforgettable night of music, storytelling, and celebration of local roots.
A 2008 graduate of Chagrin Falls High School, Cott over the past decade, has crafted a multifaceted career as an actor and singer, both on stage and screen. He returned to Broadway last year in the new musical The Heart of Rock and Roll, having previously starred in Bandstand, Gigi, and his Broadway debut as ‘Jack Kelly’ in Disney's Newsies. On screen, he co-starred in the Fox series “Filthy Rich” and in the Hallmark movies “The Snow Must Go On”, “Christmas on Cherry Lane 2”, “Making Waves”, and “Butlers in Love”. Other appearances include: “The Equalizer”, “Chicago Med”, “Law & Order” and “L&O: SVU”, “Evil”, “The Good Fight”, “Z: The Beginning of Everything”, and the BBC miniseries “My Mother and Other Strangers”. Corey played ‘Tony’ in Francesca Zambello’s productions of West Side Story at Chicago’s Lyric Theater and with the National Symphony Orchestra at The Kennedy Center. He made his Carnegie Hall debut singing with Steven Reineke and the New York Pops, and recently sang with Rob Fisher and the San Diego Symphony under The Rady Shell. Cott is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon School of Drama.
This special performance will be especially meaningful, as it takes place on the very stage where Cott’s journey began. As a student at CFHS, he played Curley in Oklahoma!—the first musical to open the Performing Arts Center in 2008.
