Chagrin Falls Schools began work this week on a third well at Gurney Elementary School to provide additional redundancy and help ensure continuous water service to the building.

Gurney is currently served by two wells. The addition of a third well will further strengthen the building’s water system and support continuous operations.

Drilling began the last week of August near the northern baseball field, and the full project is expected to take approximately one to two months to complete. Most of the work will take place outside the building and is not expected to impact the school day.

The Board of Education approved the $58,000 project in October 2026 as part of the District’s ongoing work to maintain its facilities and infrastructure.

The project reflects the District’s proactive approach to facility planning and investing in the infrastructure that supports the day-to-day operation of our schools.
