Chagrin Falls High School Students Earn First Place in Ohio Personal Finance Challenge

Three Chagrin Falls High School juniors have demonstrated exceptional financial literacy skills, earning first place in The Ohio Personal Finance Challenge State Competition. Ethan Nielsen, Colin Struk-Marn and Robbie Quinn outperformed nearly 500 students across the state in the highly competitive event.

The team completed a 30-question, rapid-fire exam covering key financial topics including income and money management, spending and credit, and saving and investing. Their combined scores secured the top ranking and advanced them to the next stage of competition.

With their first-place finish, the students have qualified for the state finals, which will be held virtually on Friday, April 10. During the finals, teams will analyze a hypothetical family financial scenario and have approximately 40 minutes to develop a comprehensive financial plan. Each team will then present their recommendations in a 10-minute presentation to a panel of expert judges.

The winner of the state finals will advance to the National Personal Finance Challenge, scheduled for May 31 through June 1 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Chagrin Falls High School congratulates Ethan, Colin and Robbie on this outstanding achievement and wishes them continued success in the upcoming competition.
