Students across Chagrin Falls Schools recently participated in the Noetic Learning Math Contest, a nationally recognized problem-solving competition designed to challenge students with rigorous, non-routine math tasks. The contest emphasizes critical thinking, perseverance, and mathematical reasoning rather than speed or memorization.
This fall, over 230 students from grades 2-5 took part in the competition. Their efforts and preparation paid off, with 85 students earning Honorable Mention recognition across multiple grade levels for their strong performance.
The district is especially proud to recognize three second-grade students from Gurney Elementary School who achieved National Honor Roll status—an honor awarded to top-scoring students nationwide: Oskar Jentsch, Colton Myers, and Rosie Neale. Additionally, Rosie had the top score for all second graders in Ohio.
Participation in opportunities like the Noetic Math Competition reflects our commitment to providing students with meaningful academic challenges and celebrating excellence in learning.
Congratulations to all of our students who participated and represented our district so well!
