Once again, students in Gurney Elementary and Chagrin Falls Intermediate School participated in the Noetic Learning Mathematics Competition.  Students currently in Gifted math clusters as well as advanced math classes were invited to participate this fall.  The Noetic Learning Math competition is intended for students in grades 2 and above, but the District did have a small cohort of students in grade 1 that competed this fall as well.

This fall, the District had a team of first graders (8 students), a team of second graders (22 students), three third grade teams (53 students), and four teams for both fourth grade (61 students) and fifth grade (82 students) for a total of 226 participating mathletes.

“Our advanced/gifted math students are truly maximizing their potential and elevating their learning experience through this contest,” said Director of Curriculum/Gifted Coordinator Becky Quinn, Chagrin Falls Schools.

“The test is challenging and truly measures our students’ ability to think outside the box and exhibit their mental stamina,” said K-12 Math Coach Nick Leskiewicz, Chagrin Falls Schools.
