medications at school

If your student has medication(s) at school, please pickup your student's medication(s) by the end of the school day, THURSDAY, MAY 31st. Any medications left at school after that date will be disposed of in accordance with Ohio law. Please contact your student's  school clinic if you have any questions.
Medication order forms, including Allergy, Asthma, Diabetic and Seizure Action Plans need to be renewed every school year - they do not carry over year to year. All medication forms and Action Plans can be found on the Health Services section of the school's website.

Career Day

Career Day is on Tuesday, May 29th! We are looking for parent volunteers to help as presenters. Volunteers may choose to spend the whole day or half a day with us. Volunteers will be asked to put together a presentation (about 35 - 40 minutes in length) to share with students.  If you are interested in helping, please fill out this SIGN UP FORM

This year, the CFIS PTO will be selling Chagrin grab-bag backpacks for our annual building fundraiser. Students are invited to order a bag for $20. In doing so, they will also be entered into a raffle to win Blossom tickets! Please CLICK HERE for information and for an order form.

CFIS Attendance Guidelines Refresher

State Law requires, with limited exceptions, regular attendance of all students. We are required by law to notify parents/guardians in writing when a student is not in compliance with State Law. Please CLICK HERE to review the CFIS handbook attendance quidelines.


Guidelines for indoor/outdoor recess: if the windchill and air temp combined is below 10 degrees, the students will have indoor recess in their homeroom.  Otherwise, recess will be outdoors. Please make sure that your student brings the proper cold/rain weather attire to school every day.
Dress Code Guidelines 
Shorts and skirts must be an appropriate length - close to fingertips when arms are down at sides
Shirt straps must be at least the width of three fingers. (No spaghetti straps.)
No halter tops or tops without backs.
Shirts must cover the midriff.
No beach type shoes (Flip Flops). Feet should fit securely in shoes or sandals and they must have at least a strap in the back.
Pants need to be secured at the top of the hips.

New Bell Schedule for Second Semester

There is a new bell schedule for CFIS starting Friday, February 2nd. This bell schedule will now be consistent Monday through Friday!

Online Absence Reporting

To report an absence, please click on the grade level of your child (see boxes below). All absences should be reported by 9:00 AM.
 Arrival - 8:15 am
Classes begin - 8:25 am
Dismissal - 3:25 pm 
Transportation changes must be made by 2:00 pm and called into the main office at 440-893-7690. No transportation changes will be accepted after 2:00 pm unless it is an emergency. Please contact the office for any transportation changes during the day.
