Assistant Principal's Message

Assistant Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2019 - 20 school year! As the Assistant Principal I look forward to working with Dr. Jones at Gurney Elementary School and Mrs. Read at Chagrin Falls Intermediate School.  I’m excited to work collaboratively with staff in order to advance students’ well being and academic achievements.
Along with Dr. Jones and Mrs. Read, I will help lead our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports) programming in each building.  At Gurney that program is Responsive Classroom and at the Intermediate School that program is PAX.  Facilitating the implementation of these programs across all school environments creates a safe, calm and positive culture. The two programs share key beliefs, strategies, and language which makes for a smooth transition from one school to the other.

Additionally, I work with several teacher-based teams in each building.  These teams of teachers collaborate to analyze their students’ performance data and make informed decisions about their instruction. Working together, I am confident that we will continue to provide our students with a truly rigorous and enriching school experiences

I believe communication is vital to our success as a school community. Please feel free to contact me with questions, concerns or ideas for improvement.  I have always felt proud to be a part of such a unique community.
